Interestingly enough, Forbes, just published a piece on the #1 YouTube channel PewDiePie and included an interesting quote on his choice to remove the comments on his YouTube Videos.
“PewDiePie’s content may seem relatively lowbrow to some, full of catch phrases and screaming as he does ridiculous things in games to amuse his fans. Yet, he’s shown a business sense far beyond his 25 years, amassing 34 million subscribers with 7.2 billion video views and a $4M a year income. He’s also been a trendsetter on YouTube, pioneering practices like turning off comments permanently on all his videos, aware of how they add nothing to his content.”
