I do believe some day it will be possible for Jews and Palestinians to live together and share Jerusalem as their mutual capital. But without Palestinian involvement there will never be peace. Yesterday was a horrible setback to the peace process. Moving the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem was an unskillful move, which Britain, France, and Germany wisely boycotted and which Turkey warned against. What Trump has done in a matter of weeks is to polarize the Middle East along religious Islamic lines AND to encourage the hardliners in both Israel and Palestine. Admittedly Hamas is a problem, but Trump has given Hamas enough righteous fuel to last for years.
