I’m Homesick for Blackness.
Anisa Flowers is a Black-Indigenous nêhiyaw iskwew (Woodland Cree woman) from Kumeyaay Territory (settlers read: San Diego, CA). She earned her BA in English Literature and Education from UC San Diego in 2017. An educator by trade, she focuses on transforming the classroom experience of marginalized students by creating content that highlights the successes of their communities and serves their personal and academic needs. As a Deaf, Black First Nations queer femme, Anisa thrives on creating and cultivating spaces for her and her community to feel acknowledged, safe, and celebrated–a practice that is in deep alignment with her work as COO at Pipeline Angels. In her free time, Anisa enjoys spending time with her family, partner, and fur-baby Woody; fostering, volunteering with, and rehabilitating animals; practicing yoga and working to integrate its rich multitudes in daily life, supporting small businesses, sharing her many languages, reading and writing, deep diving, and surfing.

I’m Homesick for Blackness.
We're community-driven. We're dedicated to sharing "the mindful life" beyond the core or choir, to all those who don't yet know they give a care. We focus on anything that's good for you, good for others, and good for our planet.
