Beginning of Year Blog: 11 ways to live life to the fullest…or so I think
As a professional writer and certified tutor, Heather is the owner of Pressing Releases (www.pressingreleases.com), a full-service writing business. She has won numerous awards for her writing from organizations like the Society of Professional Journalists, MarCom, JSPRAA, International Academy of the Visual Arts, League of American Communications Professionals, and the Association of Communicators in Education.
In 2015 she was nominated for the Stafford Presidential Award of Excellence at Monmouth University where she also did her graduate studies.
With more than 30 years in the writing field, Heather has launched a newsletter; managed a team of journalists; written for a worldwide news service where she also helped to create the electricity reporting desk; acted as assistant editor for an alumni magazine where she also spearheaded the first women’s forum and regularly wrote press releases; and co-founded a non-profit in 2013 called Women & Girls Education-International of which she is president.
Heather is also the founder of the former Expanded Horizons Tutoring Center, where the inception of Pressing Releases first began when parents of tutees inquired about writing services for themselves after seeing such improvement in their children’s writing.
Concurrently, Heather has volunteered for social services, tutored math and English to junior high school students in Washington, DC, and taught English as a second language to a Taiwanese minister.
Lifetime Contribution is a record of a reader's all-time activity on Elephant Journal.
