Yoga Nidra/ Body Scan Script (30 – 40 min)
Dr. Nika Gueci is a RYT-200 who believes that the answers we seek are already within us. Her yoga practice is steeped in various spiritual traditions including Eastern philosophy and yogic practice such as the wisdom of chakras and the elements of Ayurveda. As a “pitta dosha” (fire element) she brings balance to her life through communing with nature, fostering dogs, and mindfully baking.
In her professional capacity, Dr. Gueci serves as Executive Director at Arizona State University’s Center for Mindfulness, Compassion and Resilience. She is an expert commentator and writer on topics such as vulnerability and self-disclosure, human-animal bond, substance use recovery, peer support, mindfulness and social change. She has been featured on: National Public Radio Points of View: The Toll The Coronavirus is Taking on Our Mental Health; Mindfulness matters: Devils in the Details; ASU Now: Navigating post-pandemic life through mindfulness; Finding peace amid chaos, And they called it puppy love, How mindfulness helps manage stress at work; AZ3TV: Self-Care in a Busy World). During the pandemic, she established the Midday Mindfulness YouTube series.
Her doctorate is in Educational Leadership and Innovation from Arizona State University, her MA is in Communication from New Mexico State University and her BA is in Russian from Columbia University in the City of New York.
