Steve Hoffman

Steven Hoffman, a former agricultural extension agent and co-founder of LOHAS Journal and the annual LOHAS market trends conference, has been involved in sustainable food and agriculture for more than 30 years. He is Managing Director of Compass Natural LLC, a full service marketing, communications and business development agency serving the natural, organic and sustainable products industry. He is co-owner of Boulder’s Best Organics, a provider of premium organic and eco-friendly gift box collections featuring leading local brands. In the late 1970s, Hoffman taught tropical agriculture as a Peace Corps volunteer in Central America. He holds a M.S. in agriculture from Pennsylvania State University, and as director of Philadelphia’s Urban Gardening Program in the mid ‘80s, he helped establish more than 125 vegetable gardens in low-income areas of the city.
